Alpine Leadership Hikes
Space for new perspectives

Sometimes you need distance to see clearly again.

The Alpine Leadership Hikes are my signature offering for leaders and executives who want to take a day off from everyday life – and create space for reflection, new perspectives and their own resources.

We leave behind the daily office routine and set off together for the Swiss Alps.

No Wi-Fi. No meetings. No agenda to drive us through the day.

Instead, movement, nature, and time for the questions that are often neglected in the normal workday.

When distance brings clarity

As a leader, you are constantly challenged: making decisions, leading people, taking responsibility, being available. This leaves little room to pause. Not to plan the next task, but to listen to oneself again.

The mountains provide a special setting for this.

With each step, we distance ourselves further from everyday life. The mobile phone loses its importance. Our perspective broadens. Thoughts that have no place in the office find space.

And sometimes, it is precisely there that the clarity arises which was sought in vain at the desk.

The Alpine Leadership Hike is therefore not a hike with coaching.

It is a day on which we consciously step out of the familiar in order to regain access to what is easily lost in everyday leadership: clarity, creativity, energy and one's own inner orientation.

What an Alpine Leadership Hike can be about

Gain distance

They are in the middle of a challenging situation and need distance to look at it from a different perspective.

Finding clarity

An important decision is pending. Several options are conceivable. However, everyday life leaves little room to truly consider them.

Reflect on one's own role

How do I want to lead? What do I want to preserve? What do I want to change? And where might I be getting in my own way?

Developing new perspectives

Sometimes a change of perspective is needed for new ideas to emerge. The natural Alpine landscape provides a setting for this that is fundamentally different from everyday work life.

Energy and resources

Leadership requires energy. We'll discuss what gives you energy, what drains it, and how you can remain effective in the long term without constantly being in operational mode.

Space for what otherwise gets no space

Perhaps it's about a career decision. A new role. A team. A change. Or about a question that's been on your mind for a while.

There is no set topic. You bring whatever is currently on your mind .

The mountains as a space for reflection

It is no coincidence that we go to the mountains for this.

In the office, we are constantly connected. Messages, meetings, emails, and decisions follow one another in rapid succession. Even brief moments of pause are quickly filled again.

It's different in the mountains.

The further we walk, the more the noise of everyday life fades away. No Wi-Fi. Fewer distractions. More nature. More time. The physical activity helps to get our thoughts moving. And the landscape changes our perspective.

What seems vast and insurmountable at your desk can suddenly look different when viewed from a distance. The mountain is not an end in itself.

He creates the space in which new ideas can emerge.

A day that belongs to you

An Alpine Leadership Hike is intentionally not a seminar or a traditional coaching program. We don't have a workbook to complete or learning objectives to fulfill.

We go.

We speak.

We remain silent.

We are observing.

We reflect.

And we allow thoughts to arise without having to immediately translate them into the next task. The conversations arise from the moment and from what's currently on your mind. Sometimes we talk for a long time. Sometimes it's good to simply walk together for a while.

Slowing down is not a side effect. It is part of the concept.

Who are Alpine Leadership Hikes intended for?

For leaders and Executives who carry a lot of responsibility and want to take a step back to reflect.

For people who

  • facing an important decision

  • to begin a new professional or personal phase

  • want to reflect on their role as leaders

  • Seeking orientation during a time of change

  • want to gain new energy and perspectives

  • or simply realize that it's important to have time for yourself again.

You don't need to bring a specific question with you. They will arise during our experience.

Why Boris Brändli? - Experience, not just method

I don't just know leadership from the outside.

I myself have over 25 years of experience in the international corporate environment and have held leadership positions in international HR for many years. Most recently, I was Head of People & Culture for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at a DAX-listed company.

I know the reality in which leadership takes place.

The complexity.
The change.
The pressure.
The differing interests.
The political areas of tension.
And the responsibility of guiding people through all of that.

As an INSEAD-certified executive coach, I combine my own leadership experience with professional coaching. My aim is not to impose my solutions on you. My role is to create a space where you can view your situation from a different perspective, question your thinking, and develop your own answers.
