Coaching for Leaders
when it matters.
New or larger leadership role?
New expectations for you and your role?
Do you want to advance in your career?
I support managers in leading effectively and developing their own leadership style.
The focus is on the how of leadership:
How do I communicate?
How do I build trust?
How do I interact with people?
And how can I remain effective in challenging situations?
The coaching is aimed at managers and talents who are growing into a new or greater responsibility – and at companies and HR managers who want to specifically support their managers in their development within the framework of leadership development.
When coaching is worthwhile for Executives
Leadership becomes particularly challenging when things change. A new role, a larger team, new expectations, or a change within the company can raise questions that often have little room in the day-to-day work of a leader.
Perhaps you recognize yourself in one of these situations.
New or greater leadership role
You've been promoted, are taking on leadership responsibilities for the first time, or will be leading a significantly larger team. With this new role, more than just your area of responsibility changes. You need to provide guidance, make decisions, build trust, and simultaneously develop your own leadership style. Leadership coaching can help you transition into your new role more quickly and successfully, and increase your effectiveness.
Clashing with one's own role
Perhaps you receive feedback that concerns you. Conversations unfold differently than planned, or certain conflicts recur. Your own intentions and their impact on others are not always aligned. In leadership coaching, specific situations from your daily leadership practice can be openly reflected upon: What happened? How did I react? How might my behavior have affected others? And what other options do I have?
Stagnation in one's own development
You've achieved a great deal professionally and are a successful leader – and yet you're wondering what the next step should be. Perhaps you want to further develop your impact as a leader. Perhaps you're aiming for greater responsibility or, in the long term, a position in senior management. Personal coaching for executives provides a space to consciously examine your own development, identify blind spots, and develop new perspectives.
Change within the company
Transformation, reorganization, growth, mergers, or new areas of responsibility also change the demands placed on leadership. Especially during such phases, an independent sounding board can help reflect on one's own role and remain effective even under changed conditions.
Who is coaching suitable for?
Not all leaders are the same. The challenges faced by a new team leader differ from those of an experienced leader. Coaching is particularly suitable for:
New managers
They are taking on responsibility for a team for the first time and want to lead consciously and effectively from the outset. Topics might include role changes, delegation, feedback, communication, conflict resolution, or building trust.
Leaders in a greater role
You've been promoted, are taking over a larger team, or have significantly more responsibility. The new role may require a different leadership style, more strategic thinking, and a different way of communicating. Coaching will support you in consciously managing this transition.
High potentials and emerging leaders
You are among the talented individuals your company believes are capable of taking on greater responsibility in the future. A future position in management may be possible, or your next career step may involve significantly more leadership responsibilities. Coaching can support you in personally growing into this next role.
Managing directors and experienced executives
Coaching can also be beneficial for CEOs and experienced executives when the focus is on personal leadership, their own impact, or a challenging leadership situation. However, for strategic or business-related questions at eye level, executive sparring may be a more suitable option.
What can change through coaching
Coaching does not prescribe a ready-made leadership style.
It's about becoming more conscious of your own leadership and further developing your effectiveness.
Depending on the situation, coaching can, for example, help you to
-
to communicate more clearly and to convey expectations in an understandable way,
-
Building trust and developing sustainable relationships,
-
Having difficult conversations, even if they are unpleasant,
-
Giving and receiving feedback,
-
to better understand different people and their needs,
-
to identify conflicts early and address them constructively,
-
to lead more authentically, without hiding behind a leadership role,
-
to remain capable of acting even under pressure and uncertainty,
-
To make decisions more consciously and to take responsibility,
-
and to further develop your own leadership style.
-
The goal is not to become a perfect leader. It's about better understanding how you lead, how your leadership affects others, and what you can change to become even more effective.
Because good leadership is rarely determined by the "what".
But it's the how.
Why Boris Brändli? - Experience, not just method
I don't just know leadership from the outside.
I myself have over 25 years of experience in the international corporate environment and have held leadership positions in international HR for many years. Most recently, I was Head of People & Culture for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at a DAX-listed company.
I know the reality in which leadership takes place.
The complexity.
The change.
The pressure.
The differing interests.
The political dynamics of tension.
And the responsibility of guiding people through all of that.
As an INSEAD-certified executive coach, I combine my own leadership experience with professional coaching. I don't want to impose my solutions on you. My role is to create a space where you can look at your situation from a different perspective, question your thinking, and develop your own answers.
Individual coaching for Executives - this is how it works
My coaching is not a standard program. It starts with your specific situation.
01 – Free initial consultation
We will get to know each other in a free and non-binding initial consultation .
You tell me what's on your mind, and we discuss your expectations. At the same time, you can experience how I work and see if we're a good fit.
02 – Clarifying objectives and determining the current situation
If we decide to collaborate, we take a closer look.
Where do you stand today?
What is the real challenge?
What would you like to develop as a leader?
And how would you know that the coaching was truly successful for you?
03 – Individual coaching sessions
The sessions are tailored to your specific topics and situations from your everyday leadership work. For example, we can reflect on conversations, conflicts, decisions, or collaboration with individuals. I will ask questions, provide feedback, reflect on your perceptions, and challenge you to adopt new perspectives.
04 – Implementation in everyday leadership
Coaching doesn't just happen during our sessions. The crucial moments often arise afterward: in the next conversation, during the next decision, or in a challenging leadership situation. Therefore, it's always about transferring insights into practice.
